Story
‘Cure India’- The name itself is self explanatory that means we want Healthy India. Healthy India means healthy people and healthy future. Future of India is our new generation. The current health scenario of the today’s population of India is bitter.
194.4 million people are undernourished in India. By this measure 14.5% of the population is undernourished in India. Also, 51.4% of women in reproductive age between 15 to 49 years are anemic. Further according to the report 37.9% of the children aged under five in India are stunted (too short for their age), while 20.8% suffer from wasting, meaning their weight is too low for their height. Malnourished children have a higher risk of death from common childhood illnesses such as diarrhea, pneumonia, and malaria. According to the Indian Council for Medical Research, cancer in children constitutes 5.5% of total cancer cases. This percentage has more than doubled from 2.5% in ten years. A disturbing reality, however, that is only around one in 10 of the childhood cancer cases receive complete therapy. As a consequence, while cure rates for common childhood cancers like lymphoma and leukemia are over 80% in the developed world, in India, they have remained abysmally low at around 30%. Despite health improvements over the last thirty years, lives continue to be lost to early childhood diseases, inadequate newborn care and childbirth-related causes. More than two million children die every year from preventable infections. It is disheartening to know that so many people are left untreated due to lack of funds.
Our program was designed to respond to heart-rending challenges faced by the nation in its quest for development. It is our largest healthcare initiative, through which we support treatment of the ones who are in need of critical medical treatment. Here, we are supporting all the needy children whose parents can’t afford the cost of the hospital as well as who are underprivileged. We ensure that children afflicted by Cancer , Heart Problems and other serious illnesses do not have to die in the dawn of their lives. We are helping communities reduce their susceptibility to disease. and prepare them for and respond to public health crises.
National Organisation For Social Empowerment receives cases from all across the country, which are verified by our experts. We have supported 400+ cases and new cases are generated every week. We try our best to get a solution for these issues by raising funds through sources like our private individuals as well as organizations ,Online Fund Raising Campaigns, Tele-calling Teams and Media Advertisements.
However, our support doesn’t stop here, but once the patient is in the recovery stage we take regular updates about the patient’s medical status along with family’s status, as children who receive medical support from Sahyog disha NGO night take many months and even years to recover for example in cases of cancer.
Apart from providing financial help to patients suffering from chronic illness, we also organize regular health camps & awareness camps for the people living in nearby areas and sensitize them about various diseases and other sensitive issues of society.
